Mariam Hanna, PA-C is a certified Physician Assistant at AFC Physical Medicine & Chiropractic San Tan Valley.
Raised on the East Coast in New Jersey, she grew up appreciating cultural diversity and early exposure to different backgrounds, experiences that continue to shape how she connects with and cares for her patients today.She completed her undergraduate studies at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a pre-med focus. She then went on to receive her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Touro University in Nevada. She has been practicing as a PA-C for five years and brings a strong background in urgent care, where she spent five years treating a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Before becoming a Physician Assistant, she worked in medical imaging with a focus on MRI, giving her valuable insight into diagnostic imaging and its role in patient care. Her decision to become a PA was driven by a belief in treating the whole person—not just managing symptoms. Through both professional experience and her own journey managing medical conditions, she developed a deep appreciation for holistic and functional medicine. She emphasizes lifestyle-based care, including nutrition, stress management, sleep, and movement, and focuses on education, prevention, and addressing root causes to improve long-term outcomes. What she loves most about being a PA is the flexibility to work across different areas of medicine while continuing to learn and grow. Above all, she values building meaningful relationships with her patients and considers it a privilege to be part of their healthcare journey. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active in nature, trying new foods and activities, and traveling with her family. She comes from a small but close-knit family and is grateful for their support. She is also fluent in Arabic, which allows her to connect with and care for a broader patient community. |
