Carley Abbott, PA-C, is a physician assistant at AFC Physical Medicine & Chiropractic Phoenix.
Carley grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and after graduating high school moved to South Africa. There she lived and worked at an orphanage for babies with AIDS along with shadowing a general practitioner in surgery, clinic, and at various AIDS hospices, thus kick-starting her lifelong passion for medicine. After returning home, she graduated from Bethel University with a Neuroscience major and Biology minor in 2019 while working as a phlebotomist in preparation for PA school in Knoxville, TN. There she graduated from South College with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in 2022. Carley’s first year and a half as a postgraduate PA was spent working in the OB/Gyn field - monitoring pregnancies, treating hormone imbalances, and providing essential healthcare to women of all ages. She takes pride in her time there as she believes it gave her the necessary stepping stone to building her foundation as a new provider. As a PA, she is grateful for the opportunity to not just treat medically, but to build rapport, communication, and trust with her patients. Carley believes care should extend beyond medicine and should allow for a mutual respect and communication between provider and patient as they work together. She is focused on treating the body holistically - acknowledging the importance of nutrition, mental health, lifestyle, etc. and the role they play in overall health and wellness. She aims to help aid patients achieve their goals and full potential and to live pain free, fulfilling lives. She is excited to work alongside the AFC team to help serve her community. In her free time, Carley enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, cooking and hosting dinner events with friends, playing tennis, hiking with her pitbull - River, and getting out on the water to paddleboard or kayak as often as possible. Carley moved to Arizona to be close to her mom and sister after being away from family due to her schooling and is grateful for the time she gets to spend with them now. |
